Studio Guide

1. General Rules

  • Arrive on time for classes. Being late is unacceptable. Creativity can’t wait.
  • Rehearsal clothes must allow free movement; jeans and tight clothing are not suitable.
  • Recommended: sportswear or elastic clothing that does not restrict movement.
  • Before rehearsal, turn off your phone or switch it to silent mode so it does not disturb or distract.

2. Respecting the Creative “Space”

  • Communicate politely and respectfully with teachers and other participants.
  • Avoid rude or inappropriate language in the Space.
  • Conflicts and everyday problems must remain outside the Space.
  • Keep the rehearsal room clean and treat the Studio’s property with respect.

3. Working with a Role

  • Study and memorize your lines in advance.
  • Actively participate in discussions about characters and scenes.
  • Follow the director’s instructions and respect the team’s decisions.
  • Make suggestions for improving the performance while maintaining respect for colleagues.
  • Respect the director’s vision: fulfill it completely before suggesting your own ideas.

4. Stage Behavior

  • Use stage space safely.
  • Control gestures, facial expressions, and voice.
  • Follow safety rules when working with props.

5. Props and Costumes

  • Handle props and costumes with care.
  • Return props and costumes to their place after rehearsal.
  • Report the need for repairs or defect corrections in a timely manner.
  • Actively participate in making props and costumes, taking measurements, and adjusting fittings.

6. Working with the Audience

  • Treat the audience with gratitude.
  • Be prepared for attention from spectators and fans.
  • Behave in a friendly manner; give autographs and take photos when possible.
  • Be ready for questions and discussions after the performance.
  • Show understanding toward haters, negative comments, and constructive criticism.

7. Additional Recommendations

  • Practice regularly on your own: train your voice, diction, and body movement.
  • Watch theatre productions, performances, and other artistic shows to broaden your outlook and develop artistic awareness.
  • Discuss what you’ve seen with teachers and peers, share impressions and ideas.
  • Memorize long texts to train your memory.
  • Read literature, plays, and scripts to explore different styles and approaches.
  • Keep a personal creative journal: write down observations, ideas, notes about your roles, and experiments.
  • Experiment with different theatrical techniques and genres, develop your own style.
  • Actively participate in masterclasses, festivals, and other educational events to expand your experience.
